Lauren Laurano isn't your typical PI. She shares an apartment with her partner, Kip Adams, a therapist, in New York's Greenwich Village. In this, the fourth book of the series, Lauren's friend Elissa is in trouble. Her aunt has been found brutally stabbed and the police suspect Elissa. Tapping into the Internet for clues she gets more than she bargained for. Her own life is on the line.
"A must-read for crime-novel fanatics...That rarity, a serious, multilayered novel of crime that recalls Graham Green's Third Man and Brighton Rock."

I have read several Scoppettone novels and enjoyed them. This is the 1st one in this particular series that I read. I will not read another. I did not enjoy this one at all. Half the book dealt with a romantic involvement. I'm not really interested--I'm here for the mystery. Another large bit was about--without giving too much away--the protagonists life in danger over and over, by a killer stalker having nothing to do with the actual mystery. I hate this theme. Finally, the mystery--I had it solved with the very first clue. Disappointing.Product details

Let Face the Music and Die 4th In the Lauren Laurano Series Lauren Laurano Mysteries edition by Sandra Scoppettone Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I read the others in this series a while back, but Laurano's voice is so distinctive, it was easy to fall back in. This was the best one so far. The mystery was good, but the other storylines are amazing! Definitely shocked by the ending. I'm moving on to the next one ASAP.
This is a great read. Was waiting for this one, after years , and it didn't disappoint. Been reading other books by this author for years.
I always enjoy ms. Scoppetione's sense of humor as well as her plot lines. She leaves a subtle trail of clues that requires your full attention. As someone who likes a good puzzle, I find her refreshing and thought provoking.
Read this book.... before you read #5, and start at the beginning. It's really good. Great dialogue. Sandra Scoppettone needs to write more!
